The 21,000 sqft Mayfair Community Center includes a banquet room and classroom spaces,. Site improvements include a new recreational pool, picnic areas, sprayground, tot lot, and skate park.
A broad range of sustainable design features include shaded exterior circulation and outdoor courtyards , natural ventilation, a natural "cooling tower" with operable high venting louvers and a relief fan, and a highly efficient mechanical system, with a central plant for heating and chilled water, and independent fan coil units at each activity room to allow individual control of every space in the building. The building was LEED certified.
