Located in Piedmont, this 8,000-square-foot residence incorporates Asian traditions and philosophy to provide a tranquil and serene family retreat. Designed by New York's Tsao & McKown with Finn-Laczko Architects, the cedar-clad structure occupies a clearing on a densely wooded, sloping 3-acre lo t and bridge access. On the ground level, four wings radiate from a central dining space: kitchen and family room, living room, master suite, and guest annex. The upper levels house the guest bedrooms. Mechanical systems are integrated with the striking architecture and include radiant floor heating, natural ventilation and efficient plumbing fixtures.
